Consultation and Design
Champions Pool and Patio works closely with clients to bring their visions to life. By using 3D renderings and collaborating with clients, they ensure that every detail is carefully considered.
Construction Drawing
Once the design is finalized, a construction drawing is created to guide the construction professionals. This detailed drawing includes dimensions, setbacks, and elevations, among other important information.
Layout and Excavation
The exciting day of excavation arrives, marked by "Dig Alert," to ensure all underground utilities are accounted for. The layout of the custom swimming pool is defined, and the digging begins, resulting in a substantial hole in the backyard within hours.
Steel, Rough Plumbing and Electrical
After excavation, the project moves into the phase of reinforcing the pool's structure. Steel rebar is installed to provide support for the concrete and gunite shell. Following this, plumbers and electricians rough-in their work, ensuring that the pool is fully prepared for the next stage of gunite application.
Gunite
Gunite is a specialized mixture of cement, sand, and water that is pneumatically applied through a pressure hose. This method produces a dense, hard layer of concrete known for its strength and durability. Gunite is commonly used in the construction of swimming pools to create a robust, long-lasting shell. The process typically begins early in the day, and as the skilled gunite crews depart, a remarkable transformation takes place, seemingly conjuring a complete swimming pool in your backyard with a lifetime guarantee of structural integrity.
Equipment Placement
When planning for the construction of your pool, it's important to consider the placement of the swimming pool equipment. The location of the pool equipment should be neat and easily accessible, as this is crucial for the efficient operation and maintenance of the pool.
Water Features, Tile, and Coping
Additionally, when it comes to creating a stunning pool, the application of water features, tile, and coping can truly bring the pool to life. From breathtaking rock waterfalls to captivating grottos and impressive fire bowls, the selection and placement of these features can greatly enhance the overall aesthetic appeal of the pool. The decking is usually installed during this phase of the pool's construction.
Plastering
The plastering phase offers an opportunity to infuse your pool with personality. Whether you prefer a natural, serene look reminiscent of a mountainous lake, or a contemporary, stylish design inspired by Mediterranean aesthetics, the choice of plaster color, texture, and material allows you to customize the pool to your preferences. Proper application and leveling of the plaster result in a smooth, beautiful finish.
Finished Project
After three to six weeks, your outdoor oasis will be complete. It's important to note that the process doesn't end there. Once the pool is filled, a quality assurance specialist (QAS) will start up the pool and conduct thorough testing on the new pool equipment to ensure that everything functions as expected.
